Ready for summer? Yeah, me too. But, before we get there, Netflix's new show, Outer Banks, gives you major summer vibes...along with some teenage Goonies vibes. The show centers around John B. and his friends, who call themselves "Pogues" (John B., JJ, Pope, and Kiara). When a big hurricane hits the Outer Banks, the Pogues head out to see the damage. They discover a sunken boat and that's where their search begins, to find the treasure (worth $400 million) that is hidden somewhere in their little town. Soon, John B. realizes this is what his father was in search of when he was pronounced missing. When the Pogues recognize they might not be the only one's looking for the treasure, their search becomes a lot more deadly. This summer is a lot more than the Pogues were bargaining for.
Outer Banks reminds me of CW Network shows, but with more grit. These kids have to fend for themselves while looking for this treasure and they won't stop until they get it. Their journey is dangerous and exciting to follow. The twists and turns that come throughout the season keep you gasping and wanting more. I found myself begging for the show not to end because the stories were so captivating. The four Pogues have a close bond in the show and you can tell it carries out into real life. If you've stalked their social medias (like I have), then you know that they are practically family.
While you're at home, do yourself a favor and transport yourself to a summer in the Outer Banks with the Pogues. Trust me when I say, you won't want to leave.
