Zendaya: Disney Darling to Movie Maven

I don’t think I’ve seen such a swift transition between a child star to an all-around icon. Or at least not in the graceful and fashionable way that Zendaya has achieved it. Getting her start co-starring with Bella Thorne on Disney Channel’s Shake it Up and then getting her own starring role in the channel’s K.C. Undercover. Zendaya’s departure from the kid’s network was as quick as the blink of an eye, she quickly became a fashion icon, creating innovative and effortless looks with her stylist Law Roach. Debuting a clothing line with Tommy Hilfiger, with the runway featuring all women of color, of all sizes, her fashion career was set. She takes over the Met Gala red carpet every year with amazing and always on theme looks. In 2019 she closed the red carpet with a light up Cinderella gown, with Law Roach as her Fairy Godmother.

Zendaya has also taken the movie theatres by storm. In 2017, she walked the red carpet twice. Once for her role as trapeze artist and Zac Efron love interest in the smash hit, The Greatest Showman. And again, as everyone’s mood and Tom Holland love interest in Marvel’s Spider-Man Homecoming. Not to mention coming in clutch in Spider-Man Far From Home when she used a mace flail to fight for her friends.

Now, Zendaya is turning heads as the troubled teenager, Rue, on HBO’s Euphoria. You can see the growth in her acting and can only admire her journey. Soon we’ll be seeing her in Dune, starring alongside Timothee Chalamet and Jason Mamoa. And Malcolm & Marie, with John David Washington, a film that surprised everyone by being filmed during quarantine. I can’t wait to see where Zendaya’s career will go next, but in the meantime, here is a list of some of Zendaya’s movies and shows and where you can stream them today!
