Falling in Love with Only Child: Album Review

Now that we’re in the full swing of fall and the weather is drastically changing, sometimes the upbeat summer bops we craved in July aren’t the vibe anymore. Thank goodness Sasha Sloan has given us the perfect album as we’re cuddling up with a cup of cocoa and watching the leaves change.

Sasha’s debut studio album, Only Child, follows her life and her story. Featuring singles like “Hypochondriac” and “House with No Mirrors,” each song gives an in-depth look into her mind. Her final song “High School Me,” pens a letter to her younger self, and knowing that her high school self would be proud of where she is now. Something that we all think about, what our past selves would think of who we’ve become. And in her song “Only Child,” she sings about what life would be like if she had a brother or sister growing up.

Sasha paints a vivid picture when she sings about her life. Enough so that it’s relatable and whimsical. Do yourself a favor and stream Sasha Sloan’s debut album, Only Child now, it’s the perfect vibe to ease you into the weekend.
