5 Medical Shows for When You Finish Grey's Anatomy...for the 100th Time

So you’ve finished Grey’s Anatomy...again.

You’re itching for something new to watch and you’re missing that doctor lingo. So what’s next? Well, I have a roundup of awesome TV shows that will help curve that Grey’s craving. Get sucked into the lives of different doctors and watch them balance their lives and medical careers!

E.R. - Hulu - Might be an obvious choice but a great show nonetheless! Follow the medical team at Chicago’s County General Hospital. Not only will you see medical situations that range from mundane to extreme, but you’ll also see the drama that happens outside of the hospital doors. Plus you might recognize some familiar faces over the seasons of this show, George Clooney, Juliana Margulies, and John Stamos, just to name a few.

Hart of Dixie - Amazon Prime - Originally airing on The CW, Hart of Dixie stars Rachel Bilson as Dr. Zoe Hart. She’s a big-time doctor in New York City and gets the opportunity to leave the big city and work for a small practice in Alabama. When she arrives she

finds out that half of the practice was left to her in this man’s will. Between learning the ways of this new small-town life and dealing with a not-so-happy practice partner (played by Tim Matheson), Zoe finds there’s a lot more heart (see what I did there?) in this town than she originally thought.

Virgin River - Netflix - Nurse practitioner, Melinda Monroe, is seeking a fresh start away from her Los Angeles life and takes a position as the town nurse in a Northern California small town. Even though her relationship with the town doctor gets off to a rocky start (also played by Tim Matheson), Melinda is determined to make a difference in this town and she finds more than she was expecting along the way. And yes, I am well aware of the similarities between the plot of Hart of Dixie and Virgin River BUT they’re both very different once you start watching. And yes, I find it hilarious that Tim Matheson is typecast as a stick in the mud, old school doctor.

The Good Doctor - Hulu/ABC - Dr. Shaun Murphy relocates from a quiet life in the country to the halls of the San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital in the surgical unit. Dr. Murphy’s Autism gives his colleagues pause about his ability to help patients but he quickly proves them wrong with his intuition and exemplary medical skills.

New Amsterdam - Hulu/Peacock/NBC - Inspired by New York City’s Bellevue Hospital, Dr. Max Goodwin is determined to tear down the bureaucracy to ensure his patients are

receiving the best care. He wants to create an enriching environment for this understaffed and underfunded hospital, one patient at a time.

While it gets colder outside, warm up with some hot cocoa, hot doctors, and a lot of great storylines. It’s a beautiful day to save lives...oops I mean, watch TV.
